Workforce Development Maryland Job Service
The Maryland Job Service benefits businesses by providing local, statewide and national exposure of their job openings through CareerNet, which is linked to the America’s Job Bank Web site. The job service makes facilities available through one-stop centers that businesses can use in recruitment efforts. The centers provide access to telephones, fax machines, copiers and the Internet. The service also offers assistance with recruitment of veterans, minorities and individuals with disabilities to help businesses meet their EEO affirmative action requirements.

Partnership for Workforce Quality (PWQ)
The PWQ provides matching skill upgrade training grants and support services targeted to improve the competitive position of small and mid-sized manufacturing and technology companies. PWQ grants are used to increase the skills of existing workers for new technologies and production processes, improve employee productivity and increase industry employment stability. PWQ matching grants are made directly to companies as well as through a number of manufacturing, software industry and ISO 9000 consortia programs working in cooperation with DBED.
